3:08Now PlayingCrimean authorities announced Sunday that civilian gasoline sales on the peninsula would be temporarily suspended amid growing Ukrainian strikes on fuel supplies.
“Fuel will be sold only to government agencies that ensure the functioning and security of the Republic of Crimea,” Kremlin-appointed head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov said in a video posted on his Telegram channel. “I ask everyone to remain calm and to only trust official sources of information.”
Kyiv’s forces have repeatedly targeted fuel supplies to Crimea in recent weeks, triggering the worst fuel crisis on the Black Sea peninsula since it was illegally annexed by Russia in 2014.
