3:15Now PlayingUnited States has lifted sanctions on four Indian companies that were previously accused of supporting Russia's military-industrial network. The move comes nearly two years after Washington blacklisted the firms under its Russia sanctions programme. While the US Treasury has not explained why the companies were removed, the decision marks a significant development in India-US trade and strategic ties.
The companies taken off the US Treasury's Specially Designated Nationals, or SDN List, are Hyderabad-based RRG Engineering Technologies, Lokesh Machines Limited, Ahmedabad-based Galaxy Bearings Limited, and Delhi-based Shaurya Aeronautics Private Limited. The announcement was made by the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, better known as OFAC, during its latest sanctions update. The four firms had originally been sanctioned under Executive Order 14024, a key measure introduced by Washington to target entities accused of providing financial, material, or technological support to Russia following Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
