3:03Now PlayingIndonesian President Prabowo Subianto hosted his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko in Jakarta on Thursday for high-level talks. Upon his arrival, the Belarusian leader was welcomed with traditional performances by communities in the East Kalimantan province.
Prabowo said both countries had agreed to launch a roadmap to "strengthen Indonesia-Belarus cooperation". “Amidst a rapidly evolving global landscape fraught with uncertainty, Belarus is a key partner for Indonesia in the Eurasian region,” he said. The trip marks Lukashenko's second state visit to Indonesia. Belarus, a key member state of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), has become an increasingly vital partner for Indonesia in the region. Economic ties between Indonesia and Belarus were further solidified following the signing of the Indonesia-EAEU Free Trade Agreement in December 2025.
