2:43Now PlayingThe UK has formally designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) under its new National Security (State Threats) Act, making it a criminal offence to support or assist the organisation. Those found guilty of backing the IRGC or receiving payments from it could face up to 14 years in prison.
The designation, which took effect on July 17, marks the first use of powers created under the National Security (State Threats) Act 2026.
