3:24Now PlayingIran's expanding military confrontation with the U.S. is raising a new concern across the Gulf -- the security of desalination infrastructure that millions of people depend on for their daily water needs. The issue has come into sharper focus after Kuwait said an Iranian attack had hit a power and desalination facility for the second time in a few days. Tehran had previously warned that critical infrastructure in the Gulf could be targeted amid the conflict.
At the same time, Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed on Tuesday that they had attacked US military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait, including air defence and radar systems. The claims were reported by Iran's state news agency IRNA. The Guards said two air defence systems and a radar facility at separate US positions in Bahrain had been hit, while missile defence systems, radar installations and satellite reception equipment were targeted in Kuwait.
