8:01Now PlayingA powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on August 10, shaking parts of neighboring Ecuador and prompting residents to evacuate buildings. The US Geological Survey and Colombian authorities placed the epicentre near San José del Palmar, around 400 kilometres west of Bogotá. The relatively deep quake caused widespread tremors, but authorities had not immediately reported any deaths, injuries or major damage.
