Aug 11, 20268:22Now PlayingThe devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck western Colombia has left a trail of destruction, with at least 132 people killed and around 570 injured, according to the latest reports. Dramatic visuals show buildings collapsing, rubble-filled streets and rescuers racing to find survivors. Pereira, Cali, Quibdó and other areas were badly affected, while hospitals and airports also reported damage. President Abelardo de la Espriella declared a national emergency as rescue teams worked through the rubble. The quake, one of Colombia’s strongest this century, has triggered aftershocks and widespread disruption, with international assistance being offered as the country battles the catastrophe.
