8:10Now PlayingRussia is accelerating plans to expand its Rassvet satellite communications network, according to Ukrainian military intelligence. Moscow reportedly aims to have 292 satellites in orbit by 2027, eventually expanding the constellation to 924 satellites by 2035. Ukraine says Russia currently operates 16 Rassvet satellites, with coverage still intermittent. The system could eventually provide Starlink-like connectivity and strengthen Russian battlefield communications and drone operations. Ukraine is already considering ways to counter the network. Meanwhile, Ukrainian intelligence says Russia’s missile production is also running above annual targets, highlighting Moscow’s broader push to strengthen both space-based communications and long-range strike capabilities amid the ongoing war.
