9:19Now PlayingRussian President Vladimir Putin has ordered preparations for “massive strikes” on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, warning Kyiv that attacks on Russian facilities will trigger a response. Speaking after the SCO summit in Bishkek, Putin said Russian forces are continuing strikes on Ukrainian military, industrial, port and logistics infrastructure. He accused Ukraine of repeatedly targeting Russian civilian infrastructure, including oil refineries. Putin also highlighted the growing challenge posed by Ukrainian drones operating in the air, at sea, underwater and on land. He claimed Russian forces captured 270 square kilometres and 15 settlements in Donetsk during August, as Moscow threatens a major escalation against Ukraine’s energy network.
