12:06Now PlayingThousands of people marched on Sunday through the streets of Santiago, the capital of Chile, in the traditional pilgrimage to commemorate 53 years since the 1973 coup d'etat against then president Salvador Allende. The day, however, was marred by unrest. A group of hooded demonstrators clashed with police in the Recoleta area, throwing stones and incendiary devices, and setting up barricades near one of the metro stations. Some shops in the area were also damaged.
