May 4, 20263:38Now PlayingIndia rejected Nepal’s objection to the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra route via Lipulekh, reigniting a territorial dispute. Nepal says the route passes through its land, citing the 1816 Treaty of Sugauli, and claims over Lipulekh and Kalapani. India insists the pass lies within its territory and calls Nepal’s claims inaccurate. The pilgrimage, coordinated with China, runs June to August 2026 via Lipulekh and Nathu La. Nepal says it wasn’t consulted. Both sides stress dialogue, but the border dispute remains unresolved for now.
