1:15:19Now PlayingThe Fall '22 semester Engineering Principles for Fusion Reactors, also known as the Fusion Design Class, was taught by MIT Professor Dennis Whyte, Nuclear Science and Engineering faculty, Director of the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center, and Columbia University Professor Carlos Paz-Soldan, Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics. The class challenged students to consider all aspects of fusion reactor design, from engineering and materials selection, to economic feasibility and scalability. The students' final group presentations summarized their original work designing each system required to build “a negative triangularity ARC-class tokamak as a fusion pilot plant.” Recorded on 12/13/22 and shared with permission of students and faculty.
