Former Mormon bishop, Nathan Hinckley, asks questions about tithing.

It was originally taught that only those "who had means" should pay tithing, and that it was only on your increase (after all expenses were paid). The church has since omitted these teachings.

Additionally, in April 1907, the Prophet Joseph F. Smith taught that one day the church would no longer ask for tithing. And this was repeated in 1990 by Elder Packer in his talk "Teach Them Correct Principles." When will the church have enough?
