YouTube Description

as posted by the channel

On Saturday, October 17, thousands of struggling homeowners converged on the San Francisco Bay Area for a shot at saving their homes. Hosted by the Cow Palace arena, the "Save the Dream" tour, organized by the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America, provided tens of thousands of homeowners with the chance to renegotiate their mortgage to keep their house. Homeowners came from Phoenix and Los Angeles and Las Vegas; many slept in their cars or in chairs in the parking lot to keep their place in line for help.

Unlike the previous week's news of record profits, sky-high bonuses, and business as usual for Wall Street's heavyweights, these homeowners showed how little economic recovery has come the way of average citizens across the country. And with foreclosures at record levels in the summer and fall of 2009, that recovery, for most of the population that needs it, remains a long way off.
