The second tale features Shi Jianqiao in China's chaotic Warlord Era, who spent a decade meticulously planning the assassination of the warlord Sun Chuanfang to avenge the public execution of her father, an act that was ultimately pardoned as justifiable filial piety. The final segment highlights Sultan Qutuz, a former prince sold into slavery by the Mongols, who rose to lead the Mamluk Sultanate and, through sheer defiance, executed the Mongol envoys, leading his army to the pivotal Battle of Ain Jalut, which delivered the Mongol Empire its first major defeat and saved the Muslim world from total conquest.
