The clothing company The Gap debuted an somewhat unusual item in its Spring 2022 line -- a "Dap" hoodie in collaborartion with Harlem fashion icon Dapper Dan. The popular hoodie is the latest capstone on a remarkable story, from Dan's perseverence through Harlem's vicious crack epidemic, the politics of crimes waves in New York and across America, and a long business and fashion scuffle that ultimately triumphed with a globally recognized brand.
