Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) and other House Dems have called on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to resign after military plans were shared on a Signal group chat. Hegseth continues to claim that “nobody’s texting war plans” and that his texts did not include any classified information.
Smith addresses the ‘level of ignorance’ that Hegseth approached the U.S. strike on the Houthis with. He emphasizes that this incident needs to be investigated, explaining that we can not just focus on the consequences of this one operation but rather on “what is going to happen going forward.”
