Genetically-engineered gray wolves are not dire wolves, and Trump’s tariffs are not “the art of the deal” no matter how many times they try to tell you otherwise. “Trump is hungry like the wolf, you might say, for tariffs – but he has not been able to make ‘fetch’ happen,” journalist Jim Acosta tells Ali Velshi. He notes that Trump has taken a “huge hit” as some voters experience “buyer’s remorse” for supporting him. Michael Strain, Director of Economic Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute adds that it was “shocking” to see what happened this week. “In my judgment, it was a direct reaction from global investors to what they’re perceiving as a lot of incompetence in the formulation and execution of economic policy in part of the Trump administration.”
