They’ve declared undocumented immigrants ineligible for bond, and those detained in ICE facilities are being denied access to legal representation. American Immigration Council’s Dara Lind says the American justice system has a tendency to turn a “blind eye” to immigrants’ due process rights. The ACLU’s Lee Gelernt says lawyers have been unable to access their clients: “We can't get in to see these people. They need lawyers. That's part and parcel of due process.”
