1:31Now PlayingJust hours before a self-imposed deadline, President Trump signed an executive order imposing sweeping new tariffs—ranging from 10% to 41%—on imports from dozens of countries. Canada was immediately hit with a 35% rate, while Mexico was granted a 90-day extension and talks with China remain ongoing.
In a press conference, Trump defended the move, saying, “We like Canada. I love Canada… but they’ve been very poorly led.” He added, “They have to pay a fair rate. It’s very simple.”
