Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, Astrophysicist and director of the Hayden Planetarium, describing how to figure out when Manhattanhenge will occur, which is when the sun lines up with the city grid in a fashion similar to Stonehenge. In NYC in 2012, it will occur first on May 29th at 8:17 PM EDT, when the half sun will line up on the grid, and on May 30th at 8:16 PM EDT, the full, and then again, the full sun lines up on July 11th at 8:24 PM EDT, and the half on July 12th at 8:25 PM EDT.
