Emily explains how the artist’s interpretations we see come from real astronomical data, but she makes an excellent analogy between their depiction and apartment listings on Craig’s List. Plus, Chuck Nice asks Emily about KIC 8462852, aka “Tabby’s Star” or “Boyajian’s Star” which exhibits some anomalous behavior that has led some to suggest the presence of “alien megastructures.”
