Marxists base their entire worldview on the idea that their philosophy is progressive too: the world is becoming more human through their efforts and the application of their Theory (praxis). The thing is, Marxism isn't progressive at all. It's regressive on a profound level and merely pretends to be progressive. This is what led it to behave in ways that through the last half of the 2010s got Woke Marxism branded "Regressive Leftism."
