It might surprise you to learn that the Brazilian Marxist, Paulo Freire, railed against the traditional model of the teacher as a leader and opted for a more “democratic,” peer-based style of teaching that leans heavily on dialogue and discovery. In many school districts, it is rare for more than 30% of students to test at grade level in any subject! Yet teachers have been taught that Freire’s way is the best, and the story gets deeper! We discuss how members of the Frankfurt School planned to infiltrate universities with Marxist educators in order to change society one step at a time through what is called “The Long March Through the Institutions.”
