At the 2025 Joyful Warriors Summit, James Lindsay, Founder of New Discourses, joins Seth Dillon, CEO of The Babylon Bee, for a candid conversation about division within the conservative movement.

Seth explains that The Babylon Bee’s mission has always been simple: to “ridicule bad ideas.” Historically, he says, that satire was largely aimed at the political left. But as the Bee began turning its lens toward a splinter within the conservative movement itself, the response changed. Seth shares how that shift brought significant pushback from audiences who were comfortable laughing at others, but not at themselves.

James builds on that tension, warning that some on the right are beginning to adopt the very tactics they once opposed, including cancel culture and ideological purity tests. He argues that abandoning core principles in order to win political or cultural battles ultimately undermines the movement’s integrity.

Together, they challenge viewers to consider how to stand firm in their beliefs without mirroring the behaviors they criticize, and how to pursue long term goals without sacrificing foundational values.
