3:05Now PlayingJeremy Levenbach, a 35-year-old comedy show producer, strips down in his free time to pose in a variety of locations in the city and around the globe.
Levenbach’s cheeky photographs of his backside have earned him over 7,000 Instagram followers and the nickname “Levenbutt.” He started the art project in 2012 — and has been waxing ever since.
“I don’t think of myself really as an exhibitionist,” Levenbach told The Post. “I mean, I realize that’s a weird thing to say because I’m constantly taking photos naked in public.”
Levenbach doesn’t take himself too seriously and considers butts “universally silly and funny” as well as being “less threatening than penises.”
He says his nude modeling has also brought him closer to his photographer girlfriend, Sarah Glessner, who now takes most of the pictures. Glessner met Levenbach three years after he started his Instagram project.
During their first date at a bar, Levenbach showed Glessner his Instagram page, and she liked it so much that she wanted to get involved in some way.
“I think the project is also not so much about Jeremy’s butt as it is about the location we’re shooting in,” Glessner said.
Levenbach said he doesn’t want to ambush anyone with his nakedness and is careful about shooting in public.
“I’m always very aware of who’s around, like I never want police to be around … I never want children to be around. I never want women who are by themselves,” he said. “Because I don’t want people to feel scared or uneasy.”
Glessner said the project has made her and her boyfriend feel more connected to the city, and she hopes to keep it up for years.
“It’ll be fun to see how his body transforms over his age. How locations transform over, you know, the years to come.”
