The 41-year-old Hill was having a strong season with the Rays, going 6-4 with a 3.87 ERA and could make his Mets debut Sunday or Monday, where the Mets have a need for a starting pitcher. Hill’s previous outing was last Sunday, when he allowed three earned runs in four innings to the Braves.The Mets are sending Tampa Bay reliever Tommy Hunter and Double-A prospect Matt Dyer.
