They were left at a loss for Wordles.

When the New York Times bought out Wordle last month, many die-hard fans deemed it a win for their favorite viral brain game. However, now, it appears that many puzzle aficionados are put off by the NYT version, deeming it “too hard” in a viral Twitter thread.

The publication had announced last month that they’d purchased Wordle — in which players have six guesses to determine one new word each day — from creator Josh Wardle on Jan. 31 for an “undisclosed” seven-figure sum. They then migrated the digital scrabble spin-off to their website.
