Celal Sayar, 39, was impaled by the thick bracing rebar after falling on it at work in Giresun, local media said.
Astonishing photos showed him bandaged up and seemingly calm and conscious in a hospital — with the bar still sticking out of his right cheek.
X-ray images taken Saturday also show how the bar — which looks to be more than a foot long — pierced his cheekbone, penetrating up behind his eyes just inches from his brain, according to Central European News.
