0:49Now PlayingJ.Lo famously sang that her love “don’t cost a thing.” Now in the age of inflation, singles are looking for inexpensive ways to connect, aka “infla-dating.” The term was coined by Plenty of Fish where 48% of users were up to going on budget-friendly dates. “Under the Covers” host Danica Daniel said one of her best first dates was splitting $6 tacos with a guy at Chelsea Piers.
Other cost-conscious dating trends include “heat doming” – when you date someone for their apartment’s amenities – going on a hike and volunteering together. The best way to save money, however, is to not leave the house at all. Set up an initial video-chat for 30 to 60 minutes and “have your own signature cocktails,” Daniel suggests.
