2:30Now PlayingDrone footage shows members of the White Helmets emergency response group gathered next to damaged buildings in the Syrian city of Sarmada, hours after a powerful quake hit the country.
A volunteer with the White Helmets called on the international community for urgent help.
"It is very difficult task for us we need help. We need the international community to do something to help us to support us," Ismail Al Abdullah said.
Rescue operations have been ongoing in various cities since the early hours of the morning.
More than 1,300 people were killed and thousands injured on Monday (February 6) when an earthquake struck central Turkey and northwest Syria, collapsing apartment blocks and heaping more destruction on Syrian cities already devastated by years of war.
