1:03Now PlayingAn attacker with a knife stabbed several very young children and at least one adult, leaving some with life-threatening injuries, in a lakeside park in a town in the French Alps on Thursday before he was arrested, authorities said.
Two of the children, both aged around 3, suffered life-threatening injuries. One adult also suffered life-threatening wounds.
National police say the attacker, who has been detained, is a man in his thirties.
In Paris, lawmakers interrupted a debate in parliament to hold a moment of silence for the victims.
A local lawmaker said the children were attacked in a playground in the park, which is close to a primary school.
