Video by Stevie Guin shows the man walking across Canal Boulevard, seemingly unbothered by the reptile.
Guin told Storyful she was “in complete shock” when she saw the alligator while she had stopped at a red light. She said she decided to film the unusual sight so that others would believe her.
“I’ve lived in South Louisiana my entire life and never saw anyone carrying a gator like that,” Guin explained.
“I don’t believe it was safe by any means, especially since the gator’s mouth wasn’t taped up,” she said.
