“Who cares if they had money from the same company,” Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) blurted out during a brief exchange in the House Oversight Committee hearing Wednesday.
Luft has been indicted on eight counts, including for acting as an unregistered foreign agent of Chinese entities.
Throughout the Oversight Committee’s hearing Wednesday on IRS whistleblower allegations, Democrats needled Republicans for taking Luft seriously, suggesting it undermines their credibility now that his indictment is public knowledge.
Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) sought to fend off those attacks by underscoring the fact that both Luft and Hunter Biden got money from Chinese energy firm CEFC.
