0:33Now PlayingA water main break in Times Square on Tuesday morning has shut down streets in Midtown and suspended subway service, officials said.
Service on the No. 1, 2 and 3 lines “will be severely disrupted in Manhattan at least through the morning rush hour,” the MTA said, adding that it was working to clear the water from the affected tracks.
There is no service on the No. 1 line between Chambers and 96th streets, officials said. Riders are advised to take the A, B, C and D trains instead.
The No. 2 trains are running on the 5 line between Nevins Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse. Between Brooklyn and Manhattan, riders should take the B, D, N, Q, R, 4 and 5 trains, the MTA said.
Between the Bronx and Manhattan, local buses can be used to reach the A, B, C and D trains, it added.
