Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy asked again for patience with a months-long offensive on its front line with Russia on Tuesday.
In his nightly address he sought to rally his troops while asking the outside world not to expect instant success.
The 600-mile front has moved little in the past year, sparking criticism and impatience among Kyiv's Western allies.
"The modern world is set up in such a way that it becomes accustomed to success too quickly. When the full-scale aggression began, many in the world did not think Ukraine would endure. The colossal things done by our people, by our soldiers, are now taken for granted. Ukraine's success in the battle for the Black Sea is something that will be in the history books, although it is not so often discussed now.”
Zelenskiy said his troops have succeeded in diminishing Moscow's military strength in the Black Sea, which he said with greater support from Kyiv's allies could lead to Ukraine's ultimate victory over Russia.
Ukraine's military intelligence released this footage in mid-September.
They said it shows an operation where Ukrainian special forces recaptured offshore oil drilling platforms occupied and used for military purposes by Russia since 2015.
Reuters was unable to independently confirm the location or date the video was filmed.
The full extent of the damage Ukraine has done to Russia's fleet in the Black Sea is unclear-- while recent statements from Russia's defense ministry claim success in destroying Ukrainian weapons, with little evidence.
Reuters could not verify accounts of fighting from either side.
Moscow uses the Black Sea Fleet to launch long-range strikes on Ukraine.
But for Russian President Vladimir Putin, the waters are also an important springboard for projecting power into the Middle East, Europe and the West.
"It is very important that, thanks to Ukrainian courage, it is possible to actually push the Russian fleet out of the eastern part of the Black Sea. Russia cannot use our sea to spread its aggression to other parts of the world, as it did with Syria."
The war is now in its 20th month with no end in sight.
Russian forces have geared up for fresh attacks in different sections of the front line in recent weeks, but the White House has said they've suffered 'significant' losses at the same time.
