0:37Now PlayingDavide Renne has died at 46 due to a “sudden illness,” just nine days into his role as Moschino’s new creative director.
His death was confirmed in a press release from Aeffe SpA, the parent company of Moschino.
The Daily Front Row alleged the cause of death was a heart attack, however, the report is unconfirmed.
“There are no words to describe the pain we are experiencing at this dramatic time,” Massimo Ferretti, chairman of Aeffe SpA said in a statement, per CNN. “Davide joined us only a few days ago, when a sudden illness took him from us too soon. We still can’t believe what happened.”
The former Gucci designer, who spent two decades at the Italian fashion house, was just announced as the Moschino successor of Jeremy Scott and began his new role on Nov. 1.
