0:31Now PlayingA small plane burst into flames after a forced landing on Interstate 26 near Asheville, North Carolina, on Thursday, December 14, leading to multiple hospitalizations, local media reported.
Footage recorded by Sebastian Restrepo shows the fiery wreckage of the small plane.
Local media, citing the FAA, said a single-engine Diamond DA-40 plane came down near Asheville Regional Airport at around 8:15 pm on Thursday with two people on board.
Further reports citing the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said “multiple people” were taken to hospital, but did not specify whether these included the occupants of the plane, or their conditions.
Road closures were expected into Friday morning on Interstate 26.
