The ministry said the drills which began on Monday (December 18) took place at various special war school training sites in the country and will last for two weeks.
Video footage provided by the ministry showed armed U.S. and South Korean soldiers conducting the drills and shooting targets in a building.
North Korea on Tuesday said it had tested the newest Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Monday to gauge the war readiness of its nuclear force against mounting U.S. hostility, as Washington and its allies began operating a real-time missile data sharing system.
