The shooter was dead, law enforcement officials told CNN.
Heavily armed law enforcement swarmed Perry High School, about 40 miles from Des Moines, following reports of an active shooting situation at 7:47 a.m., Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante said at a press conference later in the morning.
