YouTube Description
as posted by the channelBefore Donald Trump’s defiant turn on the witness stand at his civil fraud trial, the former president came face-to-face with New York Attorney General Letitia James at a deposition last year at her Manhattan office.
Video made public Friday of Trump’s closed-door testimony last April shows the Republican president frontrunner registering his displeasure with James’ lawsuit, which threatens to upend his real estate empire.
Unlike Trump’s courtroom testimony, his deposition was video recorded. James’ office released the video Friday in response to requests from media outlets under New York’s Freedom of Information Law.
In the video, Trump boasts about building a multibillion-dollar brand and saving “millions of lives” as president.
He spars with the New York attorney general suing him for fraud, telling Letitia James “the whole case is crazy” and accusing her staff of trying to trip him up like TV lawyer Perry Mason did to witnesses.
Trump gave seven hours of sworn testimony in April as part of James’ lawsuit, which accused the Republican and his company of defrauding banks, insurers and others with annual financial statements that inflated the value of assets and boosted his net worth by more than $2 billion in some years.
Trump’s lawyers previously posted a transcript of the deposition.
