YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe US destroyed two Houthi anti-ship missiles in Yemen early Wednesday – just hours after unleashing airstrikes against other Iran-backed militias in Iraq after a weekend rebel assault on an Iraqi airbase that injured multiple American troops, officials said. NY Post reporter Ronny Reyes shares this story.
The latest strikes in Yemen took place about 2:30 a.m. local time and took out the Houthi anti-ship missiles that were pointed at the Red Sea and primed to launch, US Central Command confirmed.
The US determined that the Houthi missiles “presented an imminent threat” to merchant vessels and US Navy ships in the region. Both were destroyed “in self defense,” Central Command said.
On Tuesday, the US unleashed attacks on Hezbollah militants in Iraq, striking the terrorist group’s “headquarters, storage, and training locations for rocket, missile, and one-way attack UAV capabilities,” according to US Central Command.
“Today, at President Biden’s direction, US military forces conducted necessary and proportionate strikes on three facilities used by the Iranian-backed Kataib Hezbollah militia group and other Iran-affiliated groups in Iraq,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement on Tuesday.
