A pedestrian was mowed down and killed by a bus in front of horrified rush hour commuters at one of London’s busiest stations.

A large section of Victoria Station was cordoned off by police tape while black tarpaulins covered the actual crash scene.

Police cars, ambulances and fire engines were still at the scene more than two hours after the fatal collision involving a No 13 double decker bus at around 9am Monday.

It is understood the bus crashed into a shelter at the station.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead within half an hour of the accident while the bus driver was taken to hospital.
