0:41Now PlayingDA Fani Willis' former longtime friend testified Thursday that Willis and lead Donald Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade were in a romantic relationship years before the prosecutors claimed.
Robin Yeartie, a former friend and employee of Willis, testified that she had "no doubt" that Willis was in a relationship with Wade starting in 2019, contradicting what Wade and Willis claimed earlier this month.
In testimony she gave over Zoom, Yeartie said that she had seen Wade and Willis "hugging" and "kissing."
Wade and Willis said they didn't start an affair until 2021 after Wade was appointed as the special prosecutor in the Trump Georgia election fraud case.
Yeartie noted that while she had been a close friend of Willis' since 1991 after they met in college, they never spoke again after she quit working as a media rep for the DA in 2021.
