as posted by the channelA barge collided with the pylons of the US-59 bridge over the Arkansas River in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, on March 30, prompting the temporary closure of the bridge as officials checked for damage.
Video shot by Dayton Karlee Holland shows the moment the barge smashed into the bridge with a splash and a bang, while vehicles passed overhead.
The bridge was temporarily shut down on Saturday while safety inspections were carried out, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. It was reopened on Saturday afternoon after engineers deemed the structure safe, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
No injuries were reported.
