2:03Now PlayingTwo astronauts arrived at the International Space Station aboard Boeing’s reusable Starliner capsule for the first time on Thursday, June 6.
Footage shows pilot Suni Williams and Crew Flight Test (CFT) Commander Butch Wilmore being welcomed aboard the space station.
Williams and Wilmore were the first of what Boeing said would be dozens of astronauts who will use the Starliner on crew-rotation missions.
The craft experienced some technical issues during the docking, including a helium leak and thruster failures, program manager Mark Nappi told media.
“Those are pretty small, really, issues to deal with and we’ll figure them out before the next mission,” Nappi said.
