as posted by the channel“Is it fire or flood now?” was one reply under the latest evacuation warning issued in Ruidoso, as the fire-ravaged New Mexico village was inundated by surging floodwater on July 9.
This footage was captured by Bjorn Adolpho, who told Storyful that the floods “tore down a garage.”
Local officials issued evacuation orders for the area, and told residents not to “try to protect your property or gather your belongings” and to “move to higher ground immediately.”
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Ruidoso and other areas in New Mexico.
Less than two weeks before the latest flash floods, the Salt and South Fork fires destroyed around 1,400 structures in and around Ruidoso, and killed two people.
