as posted by the channelAn American Airlines Boeing 737 flight was forced to abort after one of its wheels began to smoke — and exploded — just as the plane was about to take off from a Florida airport Wednesday.
Footage posted on YouTube by plane spotter Captain Steven Markovich shows the American Airlines aircraft gaining speed on the runway at Tampa International Airport when its right tire suddenly begins to smoke, eventually bursting into flames.
“A blown tire,” Markovich yells in the video. “Emergency, emergency, emergency. They’re on fire!”
Voices over the radio can be heard saying “Abort” and “We’ve got a blown tire” as a steady stream of smoke can be seen billowing out from the plane’s right landing gear.
