1:07Now PlayingMinnesota Gov. Tim Walz responded Tuesday to Ohio Sen. JD Vance’s allegations of “stolen valor” — with the Democratic vice presidential nominee saying that “I firmly believe you should never degenerate another person’s service record.”
Walz responded to his Republican counterpart while speaking to members of the AFSCME public-sector union in Los Angeles.
“To anyone brave enough to put on that uniform for our great country, including my opponent, I just have a few simple words: thank you for your service and sacrifice,” Walz added.
Walz also criticized former President Donald Trump in his remarks, noting that Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris worked at a McDonald’s as a teen and asking, “Can you simply picture Donald Trump working at a McDonald’s trying to make a McFlurry or something?”
