“Today in her visit to Pittsburgh, the Vice President is expected to say that US Steel should remain domestically owned and operated and stress her commitment to always have the backs of American steel workers,” a Harris campaign official said in a statement.
Harris’ policy is in line with President Biden’s view announced in March that US Steel should not sell the company to Japan’s Nippon Steel — but is still a notable policy from the vice president who has yet to announce a comprehensive policy agenda upon taking the 2024 reins from Biden.
